Why would someone work hard when they can use Section 8 vouchers to live in the same neighborhood as the people who work every day?
Does a "safety net" mean that those on public assistance should live at the same standard as those who sacrificed and struggled to earn their way?
Often the people who receive public assistance fulfill more of their wants than those who must spend their money on needs.
As illegitimate pregnancy rates go up for almost every group (white, black, Hispanic), the rate of poverty will increase. There will also be a corresponding increase in government dependency. This will lead to a block of people who vote to secure the continuation of benefits.
