Sarah Palin the GOP Candidate in 2012?

So it's pretty clear to me that Sarah Palin is running for president. Her PAC website speaks volumes.  Funny how so many people in Washington pretend not to see where Palin is headed. She's raising money and has ramped up her public profile dramatically, seizing the nation's headlines. Everything Palin has been doing seems to be a determined effort to reposition herself as a major player in, if not the leader of, the future Republican Party.

Palin gives voice to the frustration people feel with the country’s lurch to the left and profligate spending. She pulls no punches when it comes to criticizing President Obama. She’s solidified her views on even the most conservative issues. At the same time she will not back off from supporting John McCain, a man many in the Tea Party want out of office. With her participation in the Tea Party combined with her demonstration of party loyalty, Palin is positioning herself as a leader, not just of the fringe, but of the whole of Republicanism.
She's making a move to be the very political reincartion of Ronald Reagan, this time in heels--an American Margaret Thatcher perhaps. 
Palin's strategy is smart. Will it be enough to make her the person to take on Barack Obama in 2012? If so, does she have what it takes to win?
