President Obama has invited both Democrats and Republicans to a Feb 25 discussion of health care reform. This time the president's move could be more than a political gesture or public relations tactic. Mr. Obama's problem, besides having the most far-left Congress imagineable, is that the Republicans have no real incentive to come up with a deal. They'll show up and talk nice, all the while knowing they can kill any deal by simply demading things that the Democrats would never support (e.g. tort reform).
What if the president calls their bluff? Is that even possible?
