“Love cannot endure indifference. It needs to be wanted. Like a lamp, it needs to be fed out of the oil of another's heart, or its flame burns low.”

Police Shootout at Daycare That Doubled as a Drug House
Police in Brooklyn, NY had a shootout with two robbers at a daycare that was doubling as a drug house. Amazing. You just really have to be careful where you leave your children.
Pastor Says Bring Your Bible and Bullets

The pastor of Louisville, Kentucky's New Bethel Church encouraged members and the public to bring their firearms to service in celebration of gun rights.

While the pastor is doing this as just a statement, it's good that Kentucky allows private establishments to determine whether law-abiding citizens can bring guns. As I always say, the people who go through the trouble of getting a permit aren't the real threat to society. It's the thugs and miscreants who don't care.

The other sad fact is that we live in a time when people see churches as easy targets rather than sanctuaries.
Hundreds of Rats Attack in Russia

Swarms of rats, at least 500, attacked Preobrazhenskaya Square in northeast Moscow.

I kind of expect a similar story to come out in Washington D.C. soon.
Putin Shows Where We're Headed

While touring a Moscow supermarket, Russian Prime Minister thought that the price on the pork was too high. So, what did he do? He challenged the store owners and they lowered the prices.

It's scary but I could easily see that happening here in America. If you don't see the problem with what happened with Putin, then you're part of the problem.

Cash for Clunkers Silliness

The folks over at Car and Driver analyze just one over our federal government's most recent billion-dollar boondoggle and offer "Five Reasons 'Cash for Clunkers' is a Joke." Here's just one very common sense point C and D makes:
"People driving large, gas-gulping old cars and trucks often do so because they need the utility those vehicles provide."
Again, believers in big government never seem to think logically or realize the unintended consequences of their actions. They just figure if they throw enough of our tax dollars at an issue then everything will be just peachy.

The road to hell is paved...
Karzai Calls on Taliban to Vote

Afghan president Hamid Karzai has called on members of the Taliban to participate in the nation's democratic process. Certainly you know the Taliban response has been "drop dead."

Sometimes you can negotiate with people. What all world leaders, including Karzai and our President Obama, need to understand is that you cannot negotiate with extreme Islamic fascists. These people are clear about how they want the world to run.

We are in a war of attrition. Who will have the courage, strength and conviction to win?

If freedom doesn't mean much to the American people or our leaders, I suppose it won't mean much to people who depend on us for theirs.

Cap and Trade Truth?

I know it's hard sometimes to understand whether President Obama actually means what he says. He changes his mind and directions more than an faulty GPS. I've tried to take him to mean what he says the first time, before the spin masters reinterpret it. This is one moment he's being extremely candid and telling the truth about what will be result of one of his policies.
