No, I didn't say African American, because I never want to take away from the unique American experience and price paid by my ancestors. Additionally, that term doesn't quite define all of my ancestors. Perhaps if white people were called European American I'd consider it.

Guantanamo Bay Better Than China
Uighur detainees seem to blow away much of Mr. Obama's and the rabid left's arguments about Guantanamo Bay(Gitmo). First, the detainees look pretty healthy and well cared for. The kicker is that they consider Gitmo better than China. That might be a shocker to PBO since he sees China as some kind of enlightened, prosperous model for America.
Well, they do own us but I don't want us to be like them.

Fatherhood...A Dream Deferred Not Denied
When I see the breeders on the street and in the news (like the 29 year old "man" with 21 children by 11 women), I get more than a bit irritated. It's sad that so many people who have children don't appreciate the privilege. Reproduction doesn't make one a man or a woman. Any animal can do that.
Personally, I can't wait to spoil at least one little curly-haired brat. Even if I have to be like Larry King. HA!

Tobacco is now under the control of the FDA. Of course this means more regulations. Whatever.

- The expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program SCHIP program is funded by an increase in tobacco taxes. If tobacco usages decreases, how will the government meet it's new obligations? They'll tax us somewhere else. By the way, if all children are now covered, does that mean still mean that 47 million Americans are uninsured? Also, if we focus on ensuring coverage for only citizens that number would be far less that 47 million.
- Tobacco farmers received millions through farm subsidies. This makes the actual cost of producing tobacco artificially cheaper. How much sense does it make to then tax the user?

Utah's mixed-race population grew at the fastest rate in the nation from 2007 to 2008. It's interesting that people in Utah are leading in this self-identification. Perhaps we'll just get to the point where we stop seeing things in terms of race. One can only hope.

Morgan Freeman Accident Lesson: Go home.
The woman who was the passenger in the car with Morgan Freeman during his accident is now suing the actor. Freeman says the woman is partly responsible for the accident. TMI on the way for sure.
I'm not much for celebrity gossip. My point in talking about this is a simple lesson.
If you have a spouse, and another person is showing interest in you, don't be fooled. That person doesn't care about you. If they did they wouldn't subject you to the pain that a divorce will bring. While it may be flattering, realize that that person is only looking out for his/her own selfish goals.
Go home to your spouse.
